It may be easier in the end to bite the bullet and buy a second hand one from the USA there are a few on evilbay

Maybe talk to a parts supplier like usgmserviceparts about freight

http://www.ebay.com/itm/89-96-CORVETTE-C4-3rd-DESIGN-REMOVABLE-FIBERGLASS-SOLID-TARGA-TOP-ROOF-PANEL-/122308016339?hash=item1c7a2038d3:g:Ya0AAOSw5cNYdoEt&vxp=mtr

alternatively Phill at Vette connection has a fibreglass top that is in good condition but the frame is cracked  he will sell that for $500 (plus freight from Melbourne)  but it would mean you doing some work stripping both to make a good top

Thanks for that. Was hoping to find one in Australia before going to the expense of getting one in from the states.

Do you know at all what's involved in switiching frames? From what I've read it's hard to replicate the factory bond that is used.

I am not sure if you could use the top the way it is,talk to Phil (03) 9776 4114he may even send you pictures,it may be usable .as for re bonding a top I believe it is not hard to do with today's adhesives, I know Steve from Australian Corvettes forum had to re glue a new top to his frame before he got rid of his white C4 and said once he talked to the sikaflex people and got the correct adhesive it was easy

There are three types of removable tops for C4.
1st Design - 1984 - Early 1986  28" on center distance between front mount bolts.

2nd Design - Late 86 - 1988.  31.5" on ...................

3rd Design - 1989 - 1996.   32,5" on ...................

Even so each roof must be fitted to the car - the eight mounts (4 roof/4body) will need to be released and alligned.
Good luck.

Yet to find a suitable one unfortunately. Although I met Steve from the club out at the all American car show last weekend. He's going to put me in touch with someone who could make me a skin for my frame. Once I get the vette registered I'll take it over to be done.
