APF - dont know but you can ring, stuart_roberts@shannons.com.au on 02 8019 4179, my email from them has no specifics, also if you go to the shannons site /auctions there may be more info, but I'm sure Stuart will help.

Back in the early '90s, a car "very similar to this" (I'd like to say that it IS the same car, but I'm not 100% sure) went to auction in Sydney.
At the time, it was owned by John Laws (yep, THE John Laws from the AM radio).  Sold at auction (for a very decent price, I was at the auction), and was promptly advertised in Unique Cars mag in the following months for a hefty premium.  I'm sure that's where the current owner cames into the picture (that is, IF it's the same car).
When Mr Laws onwed the car, it was hardtop only.  Same Hurst shifter, same colour, same interior, car was pretty tidy.
I believe that this car would have been one of many that was imported (and converted) in the '80s by a guy named Bob Thomas (who was located on the Central Coast).  He sold quite a few cars to celebrity-type people.
So, whoever buys this car, make sure you do a bit more digging and you may just find that it IS in fact a celebrity car.

I am not familiar with the removal of the hard top.  Is this an extensive reno?

Shannons ad says the hardtop is included.  You'll just leave it in the garage, soft top does good enough job for most.  Couple of bolts to old it to the rear deck, some latches to hold it on the front.

Said C1 sold for $105,000.

The 1968 C3 427 manual roadster sold for $71,000.

And if you have a 350 HT Monaro, you'll be happy to know that one was sold for $225,000 tonight (Nov 7).

It was a big night with plenty of crazy money being thrown at the items. The only lot passed in was a '68 Shelby Mustang.

It's C3 chromie for me, see? Si!

$105k... wow.  Didnt expect a NOM RHD car to go for that much, but I guess it's a market where there is at least 2 people who wanted it pretty badly.  Good for the seller, good for the buyer.
