Putting this up for a guy I know

Turbo 700 auto cable kickdown was recoed to go in a 78 pace car & never installed asking $1200 contact Chris Shead 0419 790 899

Sir. Being not a gearbox person, could you give a little info on how this differs from the std 350 gearbox as fitted  to a 78.

mmmm not a box person arrrrr.

the 700 is a 4 speed overdrive box , I don't know if they have a lock up clutch like the 4L60E.

So on that info it would be a more economical box, smoother changes, but not as eco as the C4 box.

I have one in my 78 is 4 speed auto 0.7 overdrive & has electric lockup. Comes out of a VN - VP commodore from memory

Tail shaft shortened about 50mm,  the tounge on crossmember shortened about same amount, maybee modify R/hand exhaust as pan area is longer in gearbox depends how pipe is bent, bit of fancy wiring, a shifter conversion kit ex us for console plate

the C4 already has a turbo 700 gearbox,4 speed auto and torque converter lock up :)

Yes Sirfixalot has one for sale, I have a 78 and wanted to know what was involved, I also have 87, and the box in it is great, makes for economical cruising.

Best job I ever did on the 78 2000rpm @ 100kph. 1st gear is lower than t350 & top gear is O/d happy days
