Installing Headers on a 87 Convertible
« on: December 11, 2015, 05:00:01 PM »
I have a full mirror conversion on my 87 Convertible.

I thought I would upgrade my bolt-on engine  components so I bought a pair of Hooker Headers 2149HKR from the US as they say "You never never know unless you never never go"....

So I took my imported headers down to the local exhaust shop and low and behold... surprise surprise... they don't fit.... because my new headers don't match my RHD mirror conversion.

So my polished metal headers are destined to be Man Cave Bar Ornaments.

But cutting to the chase, my question is .... who in AU makes headers or sells installable headers for RHD Corvettes.

Cheers

Hello Daniel,

My car which is a mirror image conversion,  has custom made magic exhaust and headers system created by CES Racing in Meadowbank ... up in Brissie...

They are perfect, clearances spot on and are also ceramic coated to keep the heat in... try them... here is there Link:

They may be even able to salvage the pipes you brought in from the states.

Have you tried Pacemaker, I have them on my '88, and yes they make them for Right hand drive too and ceramic coated. You check them out on their web site.
Was a bit tight on the drivers side but has minimal mods to make them fit.
