Thanks, I'll call them tomorrow.
The minimum charge isn't an issue when the alternative is a non genuine replacement at US $250 + freight !

No luck so far, Jethro. Seems like nobody in Sydney can do them.
I have one more to try on Wednesday and after that I may have to look at going to Melbourne.

When looking around for a place to get a few things chromed There was only 2 places that were highly recommended. the first one was EPT (Electro Plating Technology) Unit 2/67 Thurralilly Street, Queanbeyan (phone 62970535). I can't find the business card for the second one, but it was in Albury. I visited every plating factory in Sydney to inspect the factory and talk to the people that would do the work.

If those fail try these guys:

http://www.aclassmetal.com.au/

I had all 4 C5 Chrome alloys re-chromed after some idiot drove me off the road and I rashed 2 of them badly. They even rechromed the plastic caps for the centres.

They did an excellent job (I recall winning a class trophy that year). I had Pack and Send ship the wheels both ways.

They were the only ones with a reputation I could trust to actually do the job and well.

I had no luck with any of the recommended businesses so I have ordered a replacement wheel.
Thanks again for your help.

Kev. My small knowledge of plating from too long ago is that Alli alloys are hard to plate and requires special gear and may be why most platers will do copper, nickel, tin, chome and types if zinc. Now days platers have a plethora of safety and OHS rules and environmental rules hanging over them, so I'm not surprized you cant find someone.

The person in Adelaide said he  "didn't have the correct jigging to do that design"  so my oniy option was to replace rather than repair.

The Minister for Finance will be hoping it doesn't make the other 3 wheels look bad ..... therefore requiring replacement as well !
