Coil Mount Location

(1/2) > >>

Matt G:
 Hey guys,
A really quick one - I hope someone is online to help.
Can I mount my coil directly on top of my MSD unit with out creating cross-currents or anything similar?
Thanks

What sort of unit are we talking about

Matt G:
Msd6200 and an Accel 140001 coil

Not really sure what you are asking here.
Where have you mounted the 6al and where do u want to put that coil.
So long as there is some separation all will be good , but you cannot just plop the coil on top of the 6al as they get a little hot at times at high revs and this may affect the 6al.

I don't see a reason why you could not .
Except for the shrouding effect that may effect cooling of the MSD unit
Personally I would put the coil as close to the distributer as I can to keep the coil output lead as short as Possible
I have seen 6AL units mounted on top the engine valley, I dont get that at all .
Mount them in a good ventilated area  as far from the engine you can with in reason.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
