<< < (2/2)

Miss Independent:
I've emailed our sister club and sent them a link to the Nationals. We have also extended and invitation to attend our Nationals next year.
We,ve received his reply with a video link to the event that they are organising. Amazing that they are expecting to host 1500 corvettes!! Enjoy the video. Who knows our next OS trip might be to have a look at this!!!I know Jerry and the crew would make us more then welcome.

Oh Tracy, these are great pictures! and a trip tp OZ would be fantastic!
Our April newsletter is up on our website
You can find it here on our website www.freestatecorvette.com

Driving season is just starting here with many car shows and weekend day trips on the schedule. We are knee deep into planning our 30th Corvette Weekend in Ocean City here in Maryland. We typically have about 800 cars registered and attract close to 1500 cars combined between participants and other Corvettes to take in the fun.
Here's a good video part of the parade just past the crowds many other videos of the car show at the inlet.

Miss Independent:
This was a record smashing year for our 30th 'Corvette Weekend' in October and our charities will be quite happy when the checks are presented this month.
The weather was picture perfect which drew many more last minute entries.
We had 815 cars registered, 1417 people including navigators registered. Of those, 203 were first time participants.
696 cars road the parade route down the Ocean City boardwalk. 62 model years were represented and 85 clubs participated.
284 attended the fun show and we had 114 participate in the rallye.

This event started modestly in 1986 with about 20 members planning to cavaran to the beach for a weekend. The news spread and 60 cars showed up. It has since become the second largest Corvette gathering on the east coast, second only to Carlisle and has attracted cars from Canada to Florida and occasionally west coast cars as well. All net proceeds go to charities which is really the motivation that keeps us going year after year.
This event pretty much consumes an entire year of planning so we'll be rolling up our sleeves again in February for our 2017 event.
We would be honored to have some of our NSW friends enjoy this event as well, and bet we could find some cars available to drive down the boardwalk!

Best to you and the club,

  Jerry

bfit:
that's what you would call a good turn out

Vettech:
No Bob! That is not "a good turn out" - that is total kaos at the local eating houses, bars and resturants.
