Like the Corvette Nats.. it's intensely organised.. but differently the town has so many old time attributes that are not exceedingly commercialized.

The Camaro-Firebird & US Muscle Car Nats is preparing now for its staging in 8 weeks time in Tumut.. which is 30Kms EAST of Gundagai NSW.
Expected to host around 150 /175 vehicles / 350 entered people max into the township..
So far 85% of vehicles entered are GM F bodies. with GM A bodies (ie GTO, Chevelle/ LeMans/ ) & some Corvettes well represented.
The Nats budget runs around $32,000. about 1/2 of that being entries as entry cost & inclusions is simply $99 for a couple for the weekend, the rest being made up via event promo stuff sold & the weekend, support from the NRMA and  private funding.

Thank you for helping put the word out.

HI guys.. its about 6 weeks off till the Camaro Firebird & US Muscle Car Nationals. Entries are slowly continuing on que.. expected to reach function capacity.
Tumut is about 4 hrs drive from Liverpool..or two from Albury...

I've just been given another update..and want to pass it on to you... regards further developments to do with the Tumuts events. This is outside of Saturdays full on timetable..

.. Friday nights dinners.. I'm reminded by people... good Friday is a no meat day for many and most places are normally closed..but with hundreds of travelers in town looking for a feed .. outside of the one pub currently known to be open.. and McDonalds and a couple of cafe's..the list was short.
Some motels have dinning rooms. But Good Friday is so heavily penalty rated now.. many just close. I'm going back the weekend after next with another round of greetings to get a few more on board.  At the Railway Station - its  set up for regisration on Friday from 4pm  but also a social location with tables and chairs .. coffee, tea, water .. toilets.. and some other stuff.. there will  some light apple pie (local) & a few hundred very nice rock cakes (lllawarra) available free for those who want them. This is not announced but will happen.  I do suggest if involved in a group..check the program sent and target a place.

The mailed out Nats Program.. will be posted to paid entrants around the 12th March.. reaching people around the 15-18th.   .. as will become evident.. and as some know . there are certain things that only entrants will be able to get to - which is in this program.

Next.. on the Sunday a few assistanted choices..... at Talbingo.. " True North" the Helicopter group working around the regional timber plantations.. are going to bring in a  few chopters for us and then anybody who wants to go on a flight around the Snowy Mountains Hydra scheme .. 10 minute flights at $80 & 30 min at $150.  I'm going on one for 10 minutes (will throw up if more) .. gotta see this place all from the air.
They will take off from the park opposite the market area.
Talbingo country club will have a Chinese buffet on able to cater for an updated 150 people for lunch from 11 to 3pm  if anyone wants to go there .
Sunday also is Adelong the Gold Fields. .tours operating from 10am.. till 3pm at hourly intervals.... so you can go to Talbingo first or last etc.... the markets. ... a chopper ride if you want .. then drive the 30/40 minutes over to Adelong for lunch up till around 3pm in the  towns pubs. or up to Batlow to go over an Apple orchard etc..  or back into Tumut for lunch.. ..
Also a local fishing school is going to be open to fly fishing experiences on the Sunday and Monday..  Again.. maps and suggested routes will be in the program.

I can only do so much here .. Saturday is booked up pretty tight with car stuff and entertainment..... but Sunday as the day is set up to be free to roam, something your partners will find relaxing..  and be welcomed and discover the place.. a place on the edge of Snowy Mountains people may never had the though to really visit.
