May be fit a bilge pump to the footwell! All the original corvettes had bilge pumps.

What I need to buy is a fuel pump, I have the pipes and hose, wires, switch. So I can pump out the fuel, after rain it runs like a dog, the cap looks ok, but I wont know untill I get the bottoms out. And your right, my dad was john, his friends called him jack and he was a gentleman, sounds like a good name for a tipple.

I nearly missed it, yes, all the originals had bilge pumps.

Water  leaking into the fuel tank , is that what your saying.
Have you checked the gasket under the filler , I believe you can remove the filler with the the tank in place.
