NO KITS used - Everything (Dash, spoiler etc) were handmade one-off's.
EVERYTHING was replaced with NEW and custom parts.

The car's Purple colour results from the C3's unique tint formulation. The formula incorporates a black-and-silver base that is sprayed with a translucent violet hue before being staged with light-dependent ghost flames and, finally, treated to 15 coats of clear.

Thats a lot of clear .
some 40 odd years ago! an old painter told me when i asked about clear .
He said, clear is only used by those who cant get a decent finish off the gun .
those were the day of ( nitrocellulose lacquer )

That's a bit different story
Some painters do a clear coat over each section they finish  to save whats Been done .
Just in case they have to rub out a section .

I would hate to see what it would look like if it did have that much clear coat hanging off it.

House of Kolor suggest for their top show paint jobs 2-3 coats to cover graphics or artwork followed by sanding to remove orange peel and defects. Another 2-3 coats followed by colour sanding and polishing. That would leave a total of about 4 coats when done.
