January 3 - Drive in night
« on: December 29, 2014, 11:15:02 AM »
Saw that the Hobbit is being screened at the Blacktown Drive in at the moment and is on this Saturday night the 3rd of Jan.
With the weather being very nice in the evenings thought this would be a nice outing if anyone is interested.
Post up on here if there is any interest for it.
I am in for it and its a nice night for the wife or partners.

Regards Ross

Okay I think I have this sorted.
Gates open at 5.30 but I think that is way to early to go in, Movie does not start till 8.30 and even considering traffic going in i think a respectable time would be meet at 6.30 for a 7 leave from the Cnr of Yalock Pl and Reservoir Rd there is a large parking area here out of harms way  which is 300 m up the road from the entrance to the drive in.
Google map image.

Ticket price 10 per head.

If you dont have a FM radio better bring a Boom box so you can connect to the system.

Not sure if it is comfortable or not but its fine on a long drive and with a nice glass of white should be really good. :thumb:

Sounds like a good plan. Jakki and I will get there to add another generation.
Is there a link to book on-line or is it just as easy to pay on the night?

Meeting at 7 at Yallock pl intersection of Reservoir Rd. Just of the M4
i will be there about 6.45.
should have time for a drink and munchies once we get in no doubt, really depends on how long the Que is in to the drive in.
Should be a really nice night with the tops off.

Well Nick I will let you know, will check when the next Chick flick is out for you. :bolt:
Parking was not a problem nor was there any hassle getting in.
Very nice night the weather was terrific nice breeze all night.
There was a very nice and i mean very nice black 71 Convertible  turn up outside of the club there as well, it was to dark to take a shot of it.
Good price also,  $10 a head get to bring your own stuff if you wish, and the bottle of white went down well with the wife and myself.
word of advise make sure when you book you get the right night a Gary.

Regards Ross

'Twas a great night; thanks again Rosco for taking the initiative. Jakki already talking about doing it again.
Parking together was not a problem as we got there early and had our pick of location.
The only problem with inclusion in the calendar as a regular club run is that they don't have a long movie forecast and to make it another good night you really need the weather to behave, so I think it will need to be a last minute impromptu thing.
BTW, I still have a free ticket for the Hobbit on Thursday night if anyone wants it (one car with two people).
