Getting back to selling your car.
have a look at a car just sold.
"corvettes for sale" 89 roadster on the 9th dec
in our forum is it in this quality? and note the selling price.

It takes a while to sell a corvette but new people
always enter the market to own their "first" corvette
and like you can only hope that all goes well both
ways buying and selling.A club member here would be
after a deal cause of his experience with owning one.

But nobody  in NSW bought that exceptional 89 corvette
Yours is a 86 a pace car  they are desirable but it would have
to be as good as the 89 in quality to get high dollars

Believe in the car your selling,, if it needs work, new paint,
rubber radiator high miles new interior and door rubbers required torn roof oil leaks
then prepare to come down
A conversion at that time could be as high as $15000 if mirror 8k if chain
so wait it will sell,,Can we quarantee LHD  approval in the long term
With new Governments Not to sure about that. cheers and good luck

Have some pictures, but is it an 86 like the father inlaw insists or is it even an 89? I took lots of pics, any particular other ones I should upload? I couldn't find any sort of compliance plate (was a bit dark in shed and was using torch to look around engine bay)

Yes there definately 89 wheels but they could have been fitted by some one else to an 86  . I havent see that dash plate before on a pace car , but im not an expert on c4s Ray

So what do we have - a C4 but not 84 - it's a TPI so is 85 - 89, has 89 wheels but a basic level heater/demister. Ummmm.

Of course it's hard from pics but looks reasonable, interior is basic (not leather sports seats )  and you did say that the rag top was a bit iffy. Obviously a viewing in the flesh would be justified. Colour of rag top is.?????.....

yes its an 86 tell by the pace car badge all 86 roadsters were designated pace cars
It also has 1 brake fluid bowl 88-89 has 2.
The car is fitted with 17 inch wheels from an 89
and there wider than stock for the year
The 86 by your pics is a mirror conversion brakes and heater swapped
Does the car come with the conversion documents very important
this conversion maybe was done in Victoria.
and has aftermarket cd player
When you light it up ignition there should be
a red ABS symbol then goes out the first year for
ABS and aluminium heads
AS I said before compared to the beaut red 89   which is
a high benchmark there are many changes on your car
away from an 86 I would love one of these LHD cause of ABS
and the pace car thats what I'd call it' pace car
Bowling green plant made 7315 convertibles with 2682 white cars
vin started as 1G1YY6789G5900001

I,d take off the 89 wheels go stock or at least go with the 92 wheels
again does it have the conversion compliance and paperwork ?
just helping you understand

We are back home now (1 1/2hrs away from car) Not sure of paperwork, just know it is currently registered in NSW, father in law and paperwork don't mix, mother in law did the paperwork but she is now in a nursing home after strokes so bit hard to know and ask where to look and if there is paperwork on the car, they have boxes and boxes and boxes of paperwork from the last 50years stored under the house.

We hope to offer the car for sale as is, where is when I can show him what experts think its worth.
Much difference in price if we can not find paperwork?
Would there be a compliance plate on the car somewhere? I couldn't find one

Thank you all
