C4 No plates - where can I get some.
« on: November 12, 2014, 08:08:07 PM »
Finally  fed up - I saw either a C3 or C4 which had plates that fitted, and I'm  sure they were not Qld plates. I'm  at the stage of cutting up the rear plate, but this does not address the large hole in the rear. Does any one know who the gent with the correct size plate is. If neccessary send me a PM.

Thanks guys - i did not know they had that one on the link, I'll  get a chance Fri to measure it - sorry both as I have the rear off but is the front the same size!?!?  ... In fact I'm  not sure I would change the front - since my C4  doesn't  have much script on it saying Vette. The front N# plate cover and the tail which has been colour coded to the car - that's a nice way of saying "they painted over it" are the only two places that say Corvette.

Sorry to keep going on this - BUT THE PRICE is ridiculous. I'd  probably come at the initial price but a yearly fee is over the top considering they have legal responsibiblty to supply plates that fit cars which they have deemed registerable in NSW. Any plate they supply overs the reversing lights - surely this is bureaucratic unsafe SHHBCV'nxgnxmg something.

OK - now we are talking - but I'm  not sure this is now the correct place to discuss - since there could be a crafty RTA person in the woodpile or is it an RMS person - of course any old techo's will tell you what RMS means.

QUESTION. Does any one know of, seen or heard of a Guideline or charter or rules that the RTA has to operate within. I suppose I might a well start with bombarding Marvin Gay - pity he isn't  my local member.

Have a look at the platemaster in the states if you scan your current plate & email it to him he will remake it in an American size plate. was about a $100 per plate plus postage one of cost just don't tell anyone

Does everyone realize why they insist on using their plates instead of high quality facsimiles?
Speed and Red-light cameras depend on the reflective paint for pickup. Got into trouble some time back for touching up my black and whites. Of interest is that the old steel plates were not reflective.
I wouldn't rely on the camera reliance on the reflective paint, but I'm not paying RMS to have them remanufactured so that I can guarantee I'll get ID'd by their revenue raisers.

why do they need number plates
why cant a car just be chipped
or do they do that, with the phone you carry already
they know where you are and when and when you  Stop or go
who your with  how long you are with them
interesting  isn't it
MMM and what else are they up to
YOU think shopping centers are the only place you are tracked.

If the yanks and read  the paper work you have in your hand from 20Ks up,  surely  number plates are redundant
Or is it just a revenue raiser. or would you call it a tax

As they Fn tax every thing you do
well except for breathing  ( watch out for the libs carbon tax in the future )
and bed room Olympics ( wait for it  Big brother is watching ) its coming ( pun not intended )

What have I started?!.  This gets my goat, and since I'm  a pedantic  Old Cogger, I've decided to pursue this a little more and to that end, I'll  start at the Wetherill Pk RMS. This off course will be my own action and will be seperate from the club - thought I  would throw that in just in case someone was going to have a coronary.

Speed and Red-light cameras depend on the reflective paint for pickup.

I don't know about "depend on", but it probably makes it easier for the cameras. There are plenty of cars on the road with the old original black and yellow plates.
