(1/4) > >>

Ben:
Hey does anyone know about importation of wheels from the states?.
I am wondering if a product as in a particular brand of wheels that is not available in Australia and only available in the States would I still be hit up for the full import duty?

Unless the goods are classed as "exempt", import duty kicks in at shipment value of AU$1,001 (and that total includes any shipping and handling). Then they add GST.

Here are the rules:

Thanks gtc, oh well if you want something special you have to pay ha ha, going to add to the mortgage, only live once

bfit:
If you buy out of the US ask the suppler to give you a declaration   quoting  the Australian US free trade agreement.
that only applies if the good and manufactured in the US  with US  origin materials
.
you then will not pay  duty .
there is no way out of the GST  over $1000 and that total includes freight

If you ship them in pairs or separately does it work out cheaper?
