There's not a lot of difference in technology from 65 to 82 (except wider wheels, EGR and "missfire injection")   :huh:

MY081:
O yea i forgot plastic rear spring, thiner and lighter glass, larger half shafts, alloy diff carrier, larger luggage area, cornering light, cruise control, better seats.Just off the top of my head .

OK but hardly "leaps and bounds" in engineering, basically same car, different body, with low compression and HP

IF you can't have a C3 then you could settle for a C2.

And there was major techo injections.
Like disc brakes and BB engine in 65
