HARS Museum Air Show Sun 4th MAy'14
« on: February 18, 2014, 12:02:40 PM »
Mal - this is directed at you - sorry I'm on the side of the Hwy at Dapto, saw the HARS Museum and went in - closed!, I asked what deal a club would get for a Sunday Visit, but they gave a brochure for an Air Show 4th May, Its closed till then - something to do with Do-gooders in the Council.
I don't have your number so I've sent this. There are several car clubs going, the main one is the Peugottt Car club. Have you thought of going here, we may have gone and I missed it ( I said this to forestall fools that want to reply saying we already been) What are your thoughts.
Uncle Doug.

I have been to the HARS air show before and it is always a great day out. Count us in and then we can all go back to Jethro and Traceys place for a house wrecking party. Chris

Mall - I was at the BBQ last night, Fireman Jeff jumped at the opportunity to follow up this HARs trip, that was after we could not get the Vice to take it on. Whilst on the subject of the BBQ - I would like to extend my appreciation to Wendy, Murray and Joe for doing a great job every month.
Thank you guys.

Hi my fellow Corvettians,

I have had a look at the calendar and discussed this with the events Committee and there is a clash that weekend with the Putty Road Run that is an annual event. So I can not organise a run that interferes with the Putty run. I am sorry, but we could try to get to the HARS Museum during the year but not when the air show is on. If you are ok with it, I can try to organise the air show for the 2015 calendar. Would that be an option?

Sounds good Mal, I'm a great believer in runs that capitalize on the efforts of others, that way we get good variety, and the club showcases our cars to the wider public. BUT! Don't get me wrong, I also like the club only breckies @ BBQ's where we can talk shop with like minded people.

Organised this same run many years ago is a great day some  spectacular flying & heaps of vintage planes only problem was they parked us on the grass which was super soft. There were quite a few other car clubs there also

Hi Guys, I am posting this as an apology for not getting this run organised. I was under the impression that this clashed with another run.

Looks like I was wrong. Thunderbirds are go! We will attend this day and I will obtain details on Wings over the Illawarra set for the 4th of May and post them on the forum shortly.

Jeff Wilson has kindly done all the organising of this and has liaised with organisers. He has managed to get the Club included in their display on the day. I will get details from Jeff on how to register for this event and post them shortly after we get an official run number from the events coordinator George. Again sorry for previously advising that we could not attend this air show. Regards Mal.

   This is a great local event that raises money for Illawarra charities, they get a great attendance and have extra  planes flown in for the display.Local radio and newspaper also get behind this event. It just at the end of the expressway at Albion Park so really easy to get to. So hope lots of you make the trip down here to GODS COUNTRY on the day  Wings Over Illawarra will be a great day for the entire family with a wide range of activities and displays, including an Air Show of aerobatic, historic, modern and military aircraft along with defence force exhibits, freestyle motocross displays, classic cars and bikes, amusement rides and merchandise and food stalls
