Paint Protection
69VETTE:
Hi guys,
Some many years back we had a guest speaker come to the club about protection film for the car.. I think he was from Melbourne and he drove a green 1970-72 Corvette..
The product was apparently used on helicopter blades in the USA as a protector and was then being used on cars for stone chips, herald as the clear wonder bra.
Has anyone used this product since, and if so, can they give me an idea as to who can do it here in Sydney?
And if its worth it, and would they recommend it?
Thanks Michael :bolt:

Hi
I think you are referring to www.invisiblecarbra.com.au.
I spoke to the gent some time ago and he is in Melbourne but comes up to Sydney on occasion to do a few cars when he has enough orders. Being where I am Its difficult to get to Sydney when he was visiting.
I have recently had a invisible bra put on my car. I used Altapac at Newcastle who did a good job.
Altapac use two films 3M and Xpel. The Xpel was slightly more expensive but had a much longer warranty and installer warranty that 3M didn't. Also the Xpel supposedly is self healing, leave it out in hot sun and swirl marks disappear!!! Time will tell.
So far I am SUPER pleased I have put a protective film on. A recent road trip saw stones flying and could see marks on the plastic film, but no damage. I am confident that having a film protection will save the paint over time.
Do some google searches on 3M and Xpel. It will give you a feel of what they are like, for me Xpel has the big advantage.
After you've done some searches you may find some recommended installers (I think Xpel website gives you companies in Aus). The installer needs to have capability to laser cut the film for the model of your car.
Hope that is of some help
Richard.

Hey Richard/Nick,
Thanks for both your feedbacks as well :thumb:.. i was aware of Ozicozi, but wanted to see and get some feedback from perons in the club who have used the products any whether they have noticed discoloration, paint porblems etc on the products they have used.
I will investigate more, as im not in a rush yet to get it done, as im up for tyres next... never ending story. :bag:
If anyone else has used a product, please feel free to leave a comment as we all learn from these kinds of questions. :yap:
