1971 Twin Point Dizzy Replacement

(1/2) > >>

77CVT:
I have a lot of play (in every direction) in my 71’s twin point dizzy……which may explain my carb backfire issues (hopefully).  Did a quick search on HEI tach drive dizzy’s and there seems to be a huge variation in price.

Has anyone purchased a replacement or have any opinions on the ones out there.  I’m not going to spend $450 as some of the top end priced ones are but saw this at Ecklers - http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-hei-distributor-conversion-1962-1975.html

Also - http://www.winnerscircleautoparts.com/chevyheidistributortachdriveredcap.aspx

Any suggestions?

hmmm  $450+ for the dizzy and $280 for the controller...... I would hope it works great!  Bit out of my range.

I have not rebuilt a distributor for a long time but I would think you would be able to get a set of bushes for the  dissy and  get it back to good running order

I do like the MSD dissy and controller with the added advantage of a rev limiter

You are right but I'd rather burn a twin point dizzy!!

Your setup is ideal but I'm not prepared to spend that much on a car I unfortunately do not drive enough!  :tears:

I'll prob go with the Winners Circle one but with all the cheap ones out there I am unsure if they are Chinese built or not.
