I wanted a Corvette since laying eyes on one in a magazine in high school. Joined NSW Corvettes in 1991 (member #14) and confirmed my obsession after a ride in Frank Retjano's "Jaffa" around Eastern Creek and I purchased a trashed, unregistered 74 coupe the following year.
I then spent the next 14 years laying low in the shed, restoring and modifying (Steering , 80's dash; Custom flat firewall, HQ Air, wiring, interior, motor mods etc etc.), sourcing parts from members in the club and learning all I could. The majority of the work has been done by me, with some exceptional help from a couple of great mates.
I finally registered the car in 2006, when I was ready for the “mid-life crisis”.
MY-074 has been tucked away in Wollongong ever since. Mostly driven during the weekdays, as weekends are just too busy. I'm slowly finishing off the last jobs on the car. |
